The LAMMA Innovation Awards have attained a reputation for recognising and commending some of the best advances in agricultural. The awards, provide a platform for LAMMA exhibitors to introduce ground-breaking innovations in agricultural machinery, technology, equipment and services to the market. This year featured some of the strongest entries yet seen in the competition.

Ahead of this year’s LAMMA show we are delighted to be announced winners of the Silver Online Innovation Award 2019.

Herdwatch is currently being used on over 8,000 farms across the UK and Ireland. In the latest version of the app this year we introduced another feature to livestock members called the “Farm Medicine scanner”.

Farm Compliance in a Snap

The issue of recording remedies/medicines has always been a constant struggle for farmers. The Farm Medicine Scanner is aimed at all farmers. It makes recording animal medicine so much easier for farmers and simply takes the stress out of the assurance paperwork.

We built a smart Barcode scanner into the Herdwatch app that allows farmers to simply scan their farm medicines using the camera on their smartphone. The sheer efficiency of this technology is that the Herdwatch app can recognise a Barcode and identify what medicine it is and what its corresponding VPA (IRE) or VMD (UK) number is. If there is a QR code available, the app will also be able to automatically pull in the Batch-number and Expiry date.

The Herdwatch team will be attending the LAMMA show, Aine, Eoin and James will be on hand to speak to new and existing members, demonstrate the award winning Farm Medicine Scanner and the many other time saving features of the app.

Record with Confidence

The level of detail required for farm medicine records is becoming more and more important as consumers demand more traceable products and anti-biotic use becomes more strictly monitored and ultimately controlled.

Herdwatch gives farmers the confidence that their records are 100% accurate and in the event of a farm inspection, all the farmer has to do is show the Inspector his reports from the Herdwatch app.

Herdwatch can literally save farmers hours on paperwork every week by allowing them to record farm and animal events on the go as they happen. Our members tell us the app saves them at least two to three hours a week.
