Herdwatch History

Unveiling our proud legacy—explore the intriguing story behind Herdwatch, tracing its journey from humble beginnings to industry leadership in livestock management innovation.

Version 1 released -2014

Herdwatch launches its first version in the Irish market, introducing the revolutionary mobile livestock management app. For the first time, farmers can record their compliance requirements on the go. With a cloud-based system that also functions fully offline, Herdwatch Version 1 becomes an invaluable management tool for farmers.

Entering the UK market

Herdwatch UK version 1.0 goes live in November 2016. The app is tailored to the UK market requirements but it brought the simplicity, mobility and value for money that earned it so much traction in the Irish market.

Herdwatch NextGen is launched - 2020

In June 2020, Herdwatch NextGen is unveiled. Incorporating nearly a decade of insights and experience, this app is the result of 2 years of R&D and a €1 million investment. Dubbed "Leaner, Meaner, Faster," it quickly garners multiple awards, setting a new standard in livestock management technology.

Herdwatch UK Office unveiled

In September 2023, Herdwatch opened its UK office based in Newport, Shropshire.

Herdwatch is available in North America - 2023

Herdwatch expands globally, bringing its cow/calf, sheep, and pasture management solutions to North America. With the launch of Cattle by Herdwatch, Sheep by Herdwatch, and Pasture by Herdwatch, the company now serves producers in the United States and Canada, marking a significant milestone in its international growth.
