Since September 2018 Herdwatch, the award-winning farm management app is available to farmers in Northern Ireland. After months of hard work and testing, it is with great pleasure to bring our easy to use app to Suckler, Sheep, Beef and Dairy farmers in Northern Ireland.

Herdwatch helps farmers record their farm compliance and management information on the spot. Herdwatch is approved by Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), fully integrated with APHIS and complies with Farm Assurance standards meaning that farmers have only to enter their information on the app to be compliant.

Herdwatch can literally save farmers hours on paperwork every week by allowing them to record farm and animal events on the go as they happen. Results from member surveys show that Herdwatch saves farmers at least two to three hours a week.

Recording Medicines is now easier than ever

Herdwatch recognised that recording farm medicines has been a constant challenge for farmers. We therefore created the Farm Medicine Scanner to counteract this. A smart Barcode scanner in the Herdwatch app allows farmers to simply scan their farm medicines into the app using the camera from their smartphone. With this technology the Farm Medicine Scanner can recognise each Barcode and knows what medicine it is and what it’s corresponding VMD number is. If there is a QR code available, the app will also be able to automatically pull in the Batch-number and Expiry date

At Herdwatch we understand the pressure and strain that farmers are facing with increased paperwork. With that we made it our mission to help farmers protect their farm income by taking the paperwork and hassle out of farm compliance.

Animal movements made easy

Northern Ireland members can use Herdwatch to:

  • Notify DAERA of intentions to move out to a Farm, Market or Abattoir
  • Send a seller confirmation
  • Confirm Movements On
  • Notify a Death

The new Movements feature now available to all Northern Ireland Herdwatch members will send the intention to move out to a Farm, Market or Abattoir directly to APHIS from the app. The app which works off-line simplifies movement compliance and allows peace of mind when it comes to farm compliance.

Herdwatch helps farmers record their farm compliance and management information on the spot, eliminating the need for duplicate recording and ensuring that farm records are 100% accurate.
